Here is another piece of mine from a few years ago. I’m still really happy with how bold the knotwork is in this piece. As I’ve stated many times before.. I LOVE DRAWING DRAGONS! I always try to make the dragon head individual (but within a historically correct context) as well as making the whole design a mirror of the wearer. Since we chose to do a Norse style dragon here, this concept was very relevant. I’ve noticed a lot of the old depictions of dragons and wolves have hair and beards, and sometimes even swords, axes and shields. This has to be a reflection of the shape shifting aspect of the Norseman’s soul. They believed they became these creatures in battle, so why would they not want to be drawn and remembered this way? Maybe it’s all just in my head 😂 Thanks for reading 🙂
